Lists do all the things you mention and one thing more- they save your sanity. Lists release your internal brain from that to-do clutter as well. Lists and target schedules go hand in hand. The reason why nobody is currently taking up a residency there is because when U2 signed, they were given $10,000,000 to produce their show for the extremely unique venue plus 90% of ticket sales went to the band. Obviously this isn't a sustainable model for all artists so they kind of dug themselves a hole because If U2 is worth 10mil + 90% then what is someone like Beyonce or Lady Gaga worth? A whole lot of negotiation stalemate going on!
